Early Childhood Center

Bright Start Early Childhood Center at Mid-Coast Presbyterian Church is a mission program that provides childcare services and early childhood educational programs to children in the Topsham-Brunswick community.

Bright Start offers full-time child care for children ages 3 through 6, and for youngsters in elementary school grades K through 5 for before and after school care. Bright start offers a morning preschool and an afternoon pre-K module that can be accessed as a stand-alone units by families not requiring childcare.

Bright Start's mission includes providing child care and enrichment opportunities for families regardless of their ability to pay. Scholarship aid is available to families that income-qualify.

What parishioners and other friends in the community can do to help this mission:

* Volunteer - Adults of any age are welcome to spend as few as a couple of hours a week (or more if desired!) doing activities such as reading to the children, helping with snacks in the morning or afternoon, playing with the small children, or helping the school-age children with homework.

* Donate - Specific items needed are posted on the bulletin board in the hallway to the Fellowship Hall. Items routinely needed include:

Gifts of snacks (such as pretzels, goldfish, cereal, raisins)

Gifts of supplies - glue sticks, baby wipes, purell, plastic spoons and forks, tissues,

Gifts of books-ages 3 to 10

These donated gifts are a great help to this non-profit operation.

Cash donations of any size are appreciated, also.

Bright Start Wish List

Bright Start really could use a new refrigerator in the big kitchen OR, if there is anyone in the church that is "handy" the refrigerator could use some TLC. It is leaking moisture and the gaskets need to be replaced.
If anyone is thinking of throwing out a desk, the Bright Start office could use it. We are in need of a desk that has available work space .

Tissues Baby Wipes
Cups Paper Plates
Plastic Spoons Napkins

We always have room for pretzels, popcorn, and crackers as well. Any gift big or small is greatly appreciated!
