Congregational Life

This committee facilitates opportunities for people within the congregation to get to know one another better by sharing each others joys and tribulations through organized gatherings.

The Congregational Life Committee meets monthly on the third Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Please check the Mid-Coast Calendar for the exact date, time and location.


Regular Annual Congregational Activities

Bean Supper Icon

PUBLIC BEAN SUPPER - Held every other month on the first Saturday at 4:30 - 6:00pm.  This sponsored meal is open to the public and the profits support specified local charities and the Church Youth Ministry programs. A portion of the December and February Bean Supper proceeds will be contributed to the Topsham Heating Assistance Program-  a local program designed to assist families struggling with the high cost of heating their homes.

CONGREGATION POT LUCK LUNCHEON -    Pot Luck allows members of the church to sample one another's special family recipes while enjoying friendly fellowship.  Each Pot Luck is hosted by various committees of the church.

 

Please sign up in the "Blue Book" indicating the type of dish you intend to bring.

Kids and adults enjoying the fall dance

Game Night - Held twice a year in conjunction and supported with Youth Ministries, this event is an opportunity for members of all ages to gather around and enjoy snacks, fellowship and rousing games.

 

Harvest-Halloween Dance - Held annually in celebration of that special time in New England, a time of joy and celebration following the traditional Fall Harvest.

Summer Picnic - Held annually at various local camp/picnic grounds.  Members of the church take part in cooking an outdoor banquet of BBQ specialties, participating in the various games and team challenges and enjoying Christian fellowship.  

Time & Talent Auction with Chili Feed - An annual event that allows us to share our individual God-given talents and abilities, to gather as a church family, and to raise funds for a local charity and our Properties Committee.  


Free Spirits - For those young at heart but over fifty... meeting quarterly to enjoy a special seasonal meal and company of like minded-Free Spirits.  Last year's meals included a Lobster Bake, a Lasagna Feast, and a special visitation and meal at Thornton Oaks.

Coffee Hour Fellowship following Church Service - Volunteers sign up and provide a light snack to go along with coffee, tea and juice to be enjoyed by the whole congregation following weekly service.  This is another fellowship opportunity, for welcoming visitors, and chatting casually.

Please sign up on the Congregational Life bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.  Or better yet, ask a friend and sign up together to participate in this special part of our church life.
