Personnel Policies

MCPC OFFICE POLICY

FOR YOUR REFERENCE, THE SECRETARY IS IN THE OFFICE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 9:00 TO 3:00.

DEADLINES:  For items to be included in the following publications:

Sunday morning bulletin:  the Tuesday before, 5:00 PM

Newsletter: Third Tuesday of the month, 5 PM

 1.  PLEASE observe the above deadlines and any others set by the Pastor and/or Secretary.

 2.  PLEASE submit written materials electronically (that is, by  email.  If you do not have access to email, contact the office to be matched with an email buddy.  Materials submitted should be “camera ready” – that is, in exactly the format and appearance you want for publication.  Further guidelines for newsletter submissions are available from the office.

If you must submit materials in typewritten form, they must be placed in the secretary’s mailbox (not on her desk or keyboard or elsewhere) TWO OFFICE DAYS prior to the deadline.  For the bulletin, this means 5 PM on the Wednesday prior to the Tuesday deadline.

 3.  If you need the Secretary to do any work in connection with a church-related project, PLEASE allow a THREE OFFICE DAY TURNAROUND.    Thus, a project request placed in the Secretary’s box on a Monday will not be available until Friday close of business.    Remember:  A Failure To Anticipate On Your Part Does Not Constitute An Emergency On The Secretary’s Part.

 4.  If you cannot be available to personally explain your project to the Secretary, PLEASE write out your instructions clearly, and include your name, telephone number (and hours available) and e-mail address if you have one.    Try to read your instructions as if you knew nothing about the project as a test of clarity.

 5.  The office equipment is primarily for the use of the professional staff.  Please ask permission before using them.  And, use courtesy – clean up after yourself and return settings to their original positions.

6.  PLEASE respect staff schedules.  The professional staff plan their time around church needs and projects.   Occasionally this means they need uninterrupted work time.

Thank you!  The Personnel Committee (Page Lockhart, Chair, Paul Bayliss, Andy Bertocci, Ruth Cook, Bill Mitchell.)
